State Championships

The State Championships were first played in the 1974-75 season as an under 10 boys competition between tee-ball players from the following baseball clubs:
Morley Eagles Baseball Club, Perth Baseball Club and Wembley Baseball Club

The State Championships are now being played over the March long weekend at Langley Park. More than 80 representative teams of both boys and girls, representing about 30 clubs from metropolitan and country regions, in 6 age groups and many divisions, typically play 5 one hour games.

2021 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (27th February to 1st March 2021)

The formats vary slightly depending on the number of teams in the division. Please note that these formats are the same as used in previous years. So nothing really has changed and it is listed here just for clarity:
  • 8 team divisions:
each team plays 2 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday, 1 game on Monday. However, the games on Sunday depend on the outcome of the Saturday games. There is a link below explaining this in a little bit more detail.
  • 6 team divisions:
each team plays the other teams in the division once – 2 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday, 1 game on Monday
  • 5 team divisions:
each team plays the other teams in the division once – 2 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday. On Monday the top 4 teams play 1st against 4th and 2nd against 3rd. These results will be added to the ladder for the division. The 5th placed team after the first two days has no game on Monday.
  • 4 team divisions:
each team plays the other teams in the division twice – 2 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday, 2 games on Monday
